Abby Reed

Age: 23
Origin: Malarkey, USA

The only child in a single parent family, Abby was raised in a politically engaged environment. From an early age, Abby's mother would frequently take young Abby with her to rallies, campaign stops, and town hall meetings. Her excuse was always cause she didn't have the money to pay for a babysitter, but in reality she wanted little Abby to develop an understanding of the political realm. It is at most of these events that Abby frequently hears from one of the senators of her state, Sen. Ulysses Averitt.

Over the years of hearing the senator's speeches, achievements, ideas, and hopes; when Abby hears his words, she often drifted into an inspired trance imagining exactly what the senator envisions. She has grown so fond of him that Abby often thinks of him as the father she never Knew, pretending that everyone else isn't really there and dreaming that he is lending paternal advise. Abby never really wondered who or where her father was and her mother never said. Partly, because Abby figured it was too painful for her mother to talk about and because some part of her was afraid to find out about a man that would abandon them. As fate would have it she never got the chance to ask.

During Abby's senior year at Malarkey State University (MSU) Abby's mother was in a fatal car accident which took her life. Depressed and alone, Abby didn't know what to do. Abby went to her first rally alone, sat in the front row, and tuned out everything the speakers had to say as she dwelled on her loneliness. That is until the voice of Sen. Averitt rang in her ears, the senator was making a surprise appearance to the MSU campus as he was in a tight primary race. The senator's words immediately cradled the distraught Abby like they had never done before and restored her resolve, and in a few months, Abby graduated from MSU with a degree in Political Science. As luck would have it, Sen. Averitt's campaign returned to the campus and began scouting MSU for help, and Abby was among those chosen to aide the senator's pursuit.
